2016 Mazda MX-5

The all-new MX-5 adopts both SKYACTIV technology and Mazda’s KODO-Soul of Motion design language. Environmental and safety demands are much more stringent than they were when the first generation MX-5 was introduced 25 years ago, but the fourth generation stays true to the model’s original aim of offering the pure driving fun that only a lightweight sports car can. The powertrain line-up for the MX-5 includes specially tuned SKYACTIV 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre direct-injection petrol engines paired with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The all-new MX-5 is also equipped with the MZD Connect* in-car connectivity system. Based on Mazda’s new-generation human-machine interface (HMI), which places top priority on safety, the system works in tandem with the customer’s smartphone to make functions including internet connectivity and access to communication services safe and easy to use, even when in transit.
